Gundua Info Community Guidelines

Gundua Info is a digital democracy mobile application that re-imagines civic engagement. It brings innovation to the democratic space, giving users real-time access to civic education and budget content right from their phones.

To ensure a constructive, safe, and respectful environment for all users, we require everyone to adhere to these Community Guidelines.

By using GunduaInfo’s commenting feature, you agree to these guidelines. Failure to comply may result in the removal of your content, temporary suspension, or permanent banning from the app.

1. Respectful and Constructive Discourse

  • Be Respectful: Treat all users with respect, even if you disagree with their views. Personal attacks, insults, harassment, bullying, or discriminatory language (based on ethnicity, religion, gender, age, disability, etc.) will not be tolerated.
  • Focus on the Topic: Keep comments relevant to the budget information or public participation topics being discussed. Avoid off-topic discussions or irrelevant content.
  • Contribute Constructively: Aim to add value to the conversation. Share informed opinions, ask clarifying questions, or provide relevant insights.

2. Accuracy and Misinformation

  • Be Truthful: Do not post false or misleading information. We encourage users to verify information before sharing.
  • Avoid Misinformation & Disinformation: Do not spread rumors, propaganda, or intentionally false content. Our goal is to empower through accurate information.
  • Cite Sources (Optional but Encouraged): If you are sharing specific data or claims, consider mentioning your source where possible to support your statements.

3. Content Restrictions

  • No Illegal Content: Do not post content that promotes, depicts, or encourages illegal activities under Kenyan law.
  • No Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence, incites hatred, or degrades individuals or groups based on protected characteristics is strictly prohibited.
  • No Spam or Commercial Content: Do not post unsolicited advertisements, promotional material, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any other form of commercial solicitation.
  • No Impersonation: Do not impersonate any person, entity, or official.
  • No Private Information: Do not share your own or anyone else’s personal private information (e.g., phone numbers, home addresses, bank details).
  • No Graphic or Obscene Content: Do not post sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise disturbing content.
  • No Copyright Infringement: Do not post content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.

4. Anonymity and Responsibility

  • Anonymous, But Accountable: While your comments are displayed anonymously to other users, remember that your actions are tied to your internal app account. We will take action against accounts that violate these guidelines.
  • Report Concerns: If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately by contacting us. 

5. Our Moderation Rights

  • Moderation Authority: The Center for Transformational Leadership reserves the right to review, edit, remove, or hide any comment or user-generated content that violates these Community Guidelines or our Terms of Service, or that we deem inappropriate or harmful, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
  • Consequences of Violations: Violations may lead to the removal of content, temporary suspension of commenting privileges, or permanent termination of your account.
  • No Guarantee of Publication: We do not guarantee the publication of all submitted comments.

6. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content that you believe violates these Community Guidelines, please report it to us.

7. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new guidelines within the app or on this page. Your continued use of the app’s commenting feature after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new guidelines.
